About Whitespace

Why "whitespace"?

Every piece of software starts the same way: with an empty page. A blank screen. Whitespace.

Then an idea takes shape a gap becomes visible, a problem that nobody has solved quite right. And line by line, something new fills the space that was empty before.

That's what we do. We find the gaps in workflows and tools - and fill the empty space. Focused, elegant, and exactly where it's needed.

Who's behind it

Behind Whitespace Software is one independent developer - Mathias Mischler - building tools for photographers, creatives, and self-hosters. The best software solves one problem well, and stays out of the way for everything else.

The obsession with fast software goes back a long way. Mathias started out in the demoscene on the C64 and Amiga and later worked on a commercial game with a real-time 3D engine - a discipline where getting every millisecond out of ordinary hardware is the whole craft. That's the instinct behind every Whitespace tool: do the hard engineering underneath, so it feels instant and effortless - software you actually enjoy using.
